Skip to contentHeat pump installation, servicing and repairs across Waiheke Island — Oneroa to Onetangi, Surfdale to Orapiu. We bring the van over on the ferry, plan the whole job around one crossing, and specify units that survive salt air.
Quick and easy — Ben will get back to you shortly.
Ben will get back to you shortly. Need it urgently? Call 027 314 9391.
We bring the van across on the SeaLink vehicle ferry and work the island in planned trips rather than one-off callouts. That matters for you in two ways: everything needed for the job comes with us, and because the crossing is booked around a full day of work, you are not paying for a wasted trip. Tell us what you need and we will tell you when we are next over.
We supply and install Panasonic, Daikin and Mitsubishi Electric systems, size the unit properly for the room, and finish tidy. Fixed price in writing before we start.
This is the thing that separates a Waiheke install from a mainland one, and most quotes ignore it. Outdoor units on the island sit in salt-laden air year round. A standard condenser in an exposed coastal position at Palm Beach or Onetangi can lose years off its life — the aluminium fins corrode, the coil loses efficiency, and the casing and fixings rust well before the compressor is anywhere near worn out.
What we do about it: specify units with factory anti-corrosion coil treatment rather than standard fins, use stainless or hot-dip galvanised brackets instead of the painted mild steel that comes in most kits, and site the outdoor unit out of direct salt spray and prevailing wind where the property allows. On genuinely exposed sites we will tell you that up front rather than after the warranty claim.
It also means a fresh water rinse of the outdoor coil is not optional maintenance on Waiheke — it is the single cheapest thing you can do to keep the unit alive. We show you how on handover.
A lot of Waiheke housing sits empty for weeks then runs flat out for a fortnight. That pattern is hard on a heat pump: filters block up with dust while nobody notices, drain lines dry out and clog, and the first hot weekend of summer is when the unit gets switched on and does not work.
If you rent the place out short-stay, a unit that fails on a Friday in January costs you a refund and a review. We service before the season rather than during it, and we can fit wifi control so you can check the place is warm before guests arrive — and turn it off after they leave it running with the doors open.
If you have a long-term tenancy on the island, the main living area needs a fixed heater sized to the Healthy Homes heating capacity formula. Older, uninsulated Waiheke baches routinely need more kilowatts than owners expect, and a heater under the required capacity does not comply even if the tenant is comfortable. We run the calculation, install the right unit and give you documentation for your file. See our Healthy Homes heating guide.
We service and repair existing systems across the island — units that are not heating, icing up, dripping, throwing error codes, or that have not been touched in five years. On Waiheke a service is worth more than it is on the mainland, because a corroded coil caught early is a clean and a coating rather than a new outdoor unit. More on our servicing and repairs page, or read why a heat pump stops heating.
Some island properties run on limited or older supply, and a few are off grid entirely. A modern inverter heat pump is one of the most efficient ways to heat a room, but the electrical side still needs checking before anyone promises you anything. We look at the existing supply as part of the quote, and the electrical work is carried out and certified by a registered electrician.
Full supply-and-install pricing for every brand and size we carry is on our heat pump prices page, including GST. For Waiheke there is a travel charge covering the vehicle ferry, which we tell you before you commit, not after. It is materially cheaper per job when we install two or three units on the island in the same trip — so if your neighbour has been meaning to get one done, now is the time to mention it.
If you want whole-home heating rather than several high-walls, read our ducted vs high-wall comparison first.

There is a travel charge that covers the vehicle ferry crossing, and we tell you what it is before you commit. It works out materially cheaper per job when we do two or three installs on the island in the same trip, so it is worth asking neighbours who have been meaning to get one done.
It will shorten the life of a standard unit, especially in an exposed coastal position. We specify units with factory anti-corrosion coil treatment, use stainless or galvanised brackets rather than painted mild steel, and site the outdoor unit out of direct salt spray where the property allows. Rinsing the outdoor coil with fresh water a few times a year makes a real difference too.
Yes, and that is the right time to do it. Units that sit unused for weeks block up and dry out, and the first hot weekend of summer is exactly when you find out. We service before the season rather than during it, and can fit wifi control so you can check the place before guests arrive.
