Heat pump servicing & repairs — Auckland
Fault diagnosis, repairs and annual servicing on most major brands, Auckland-wide. Honest advice — if a unit isn’t worth fixing, we’ll tell you straight.
Why servicing matters
A heat pump is a filter, a fan and a heat exchanger working every day — and all three clog up over time. A dirty system works harder to move the same heat, which shows up as weaker performance and a bigger power bill. Regular servicing keeps the unit efficient, keeps the air it blows clean, and catches small faults before they become expensive ones. It also protects the lifespan of the unit: a well-maintained heat pump simply lasts longer.
What a service includes
We clean the indoor filters and coil, clean and inspect the outdoor unit, check the condensate drain, check electrical connections, and run the system through a full operational test in both heating and cooling. If anything looks like a future problem — corrosion on a coastal unit, a noisy fan bearing, a tired capacitor — we’ll flag it while it’s still a cheap fix.
Repairs and fault diagnosis
Unit flashing an error code? Dripping water inside? Blowing cold when it should be heating? We diagnose faults on most major brands — Panasonic, Daikin, Mitsubishi Electric, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Fujitsu and more — and give you a clear price to fix it before any work starts. And if the honest answer is that the unit isn’t worth repairing, we’ll say so and quote a replacement instead, so you can put the money where it counts.

"First time using this company and have to say Ben's service is the best! Gave me a time, he rocked up, did the work, installed new air con, serviced the other one, even fixed up dodgy work from previous installer. Legend mate! Recommend 100%"
Servicing & repair questions
How often should a heat pump be serviced?
For a typical Auckland home, a professional service once a year keeps the system efficient and catches problems early. Coastal homes (salt air) and heavily-used units benefit from more frequent attention. In between services, cleaning the indoor filters yourself every couple of months makes a real difference.
What are the signs my heat pump needs repair?
Common ones: weak airflow, not reaching temperature like it used to, water dripping from the indoor unit, flashing lights or error codes, unusual noises, or a jump in your power bill. Any of these are worth a diagnosis before they turn into a bigger fault.
Which brands do you repair?
Most major brands — including Panasonic, Daikin, Mitsubishi Electric, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Fujitsu and others. We diagnose the fault first, then give you a clear price to fix it before any work starts.
Is it worth repairing an older heat pump?
Sometimes. If a unit is 10–15+ years old and the fault is major (like a failed compressor or PCB), replacement is often the better money. We'll tell you straight either way — and where it's a genuine line call, we'll price both options so you can decide.
What does a heat pump service include?
Cleaning the indoor filters and coil, cleaning and checking the outdoor unit, checking the condensate drain, checking electrical connections, and a full operational test to confirm the unit is heating and cooling as it should. We'll also flag anything that looks like a future problem.
